6Delft

Delft is synonymous with blue-and-white porcelain, but this historic town offers much more than its famous pottery. Located between The Hague and Rotterdam, Delft is one of the Netherlands’ most picturesque towns, with a rich history dating back to the 11th century. Its well-preserved medieval center is filled with narrow streets, stately canals, and stunning Renaissance and Gothic architecture.

One of the town’s most iconic landmarks is the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), where members of the Dutch royal family have been buried since the 16th century. Visitors can also explore the Old Church, known for its leaning tower, and the Prinsenhof Museum, which was once the residence of William of Orange, the founding father of the Dutch Republic.
