5Rainbow Eucalyptus, Southeast Asia and Australia

The Rainbow Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) stands out for its striking, multicolored bark. Native to the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea, this tree’s bark peels away in strips, revealing a bright green layer underneath. As the exposed bark matures, it transitions through a spectrum of colors, including blue, purple, orange, and maroon. The vibrant hues of the Rainbow Eucalyptus make it look like a living work of art. In addition to its unique appearance, the tree grows rapidly, reaching heights of up to 250 feet, making it one of the tallest eucalyptus species.
