Stretching along Namibia’s Atlantic coast, the Skeleton Coast is as eerie as it sounds. Known for its foggy, desolate landscape and treacherous conditions, this beach has claimed the lives of many shipwrecked sailors, earning it its grim name.

The combination of strong currents, unpredictable weather, and massive waves make swimming extremely dangerous. The coast is also home to a large population of Cape fur seals, which attract predators like great white sharks. Even setting foot on the beach can be risky, with the harsh desert environment and lack of fresh water posing threats to visitors.
