The Alaska Highway, originally built as a military supply road during World War II, spans 1,400 miles from Dawson Creek, British Columbia, to Delta Junction, Alaska. It’s a journey through dense forests, mountains, and stunning wilderness, with sparse settlements along the way. While the highway technically starts outside the U.S., the Alaskan portion alone offers an extraordinary sense of isolation.
