While the ancient Library of Alexandria is no longer standing, its legacy lives on in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Rebuilt in 2002, this modern incarnation pays homage to the original’s grandeur.

The library’s tilted, disc-shaped roof and expansive glass exterior overlooking the Mediterranean Sea create a stunning contemporary design that captures the spirit of the ancient world’s intellectual hub.
