Route: Reykjavik – Vik – Hofn – Akureyri – Reykjavik Distance: 1,322 km (821 miles) Best Time to Go: June to September. Iceland’s Ring Road takes you around the entire country, passing waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, and black sand beaches.

Visit Seljalandsfoss, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and the bubbling geothermal areas near Myvatn. A 4×4 vehicle is recommended for some off-the-beaten-path detours.
