5Folegandros – The Quiet Cycladic Star

Folegandros is often described as “what Santorini used to be” before mass tourism. Its clifftop Chora is among the most beautiful villages in the Cyclades, with narrow lanes, bougainvillea-covered houses, and cozy tavernas.

In summer, it has become more popular, but in spring or autumn, the island regains its serene charm. Hiking trails crisscross the rugged landscape, leading to secluded beaches like Agali or Livadaki. Watching the sunset from the Church of Panagia, perched high above the Chora, is unforgettable when you don’t have to share it with hundreds of others.
