10Blue Hole, Dahab, Egypt

The Blue Hole in Dahab, Egypt, is infamous among the diving community as one of the most dangerous dive sites in the world. This vertical underwater sinkhole plunges to depths of over 100 meters (328 feet), and it has claimed the lives of numerous divers over the years, earning it the grim nickname, “Divers’ Cemetery.”

The primary danger at the Blue Hole is a submerged arch located at around 55 meters (180 feet). The archway tempts divers to swim through, but its depth can cause nitrogen narcosis, a condition that impairs judgment and coordination. Additionally, the lure of the arch often entices divers to exceed their safe dive limits, leading to fatal consequences. Despite its beauty, the Blue Hole remains a site where divers must exercise extreme caution.
