4Central African Republic
The Central African Republic (CAR) has been in a state of turmoil since a coup in 2013, which led to widespread violence between Christian and Muslim militias. Despite international peacekeeping efforts, the country remains dangerous due to ongoing armed conflict and banditry. Civilians are often caught in the crossfire, and human rights abuses are rampant. The country’s fragile government has little control outside the capital, Bangui, and large parts of the country are ruled by armed groups. The lack of infrastructure and basic services exacerbates the dire humanitarian situation.
