In 1901, a remarkable discovery was made off the coast of the Greek island of Antikythera. Dubbed the Antikythera Mechanism, this ancient device dates back to around 100 BC and is considered the world’s first known analog computer.

It was used to predict celestial events, such as eclipses and the positions of planets, showcasing the advanced scientific knowledge of ancient Greeks.
