Dudinka is a port city located on the Yenisei River in the Krasnoyarsk Krai region of Russia. Situated above the Arctic Circle, Dudinka experiences long, harsh winters, with temperatures often dropping to -40°C (-40°F) or lower.

The city is an important center for the Russian mining and metallurgical industries, but its residents must endure extreme cold and darkness for much of the year.
