6Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – Abu Dhabi, UAE

One of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Completed in 2007, it was commissioned by the late president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose vision was to unite the cultural diversity of the Islamic world in a single monumental mosque.

The mosque’s white marble façade is stunning, featuring intricate floral designs made from semi-precious stones. It has 82 domes of various sizes, 1,096 exterior columns, and 24-carat gold gilded chandeliers. The main prayer hall houses one of the largest chandeliers in the world and a massive hand-knotted carpet, crafted by more than 1,200 artisans. The reflective pools around the mosque amplify its beauty, especially at sunset, when the mosque appears to float in a pool of tranquility.
