3Zion National Park (Utah)

While Zion National Park is often associated with its towering red rock formations, it’s also a fantastic destination in the fall. The contrast between the golden cottonwoods and the park’s crimson sandstone cliffs is nothing short of spectacular. Zion’s lower elevations typically see fall colors from late October into early November, making it a great option for those who want to enjoy fall foliage later in the season.

Hiking in Zion during the autumn months is particularly enjoyable thanks to the cooler temperatures. The Riverside Walk along the Virgin River and the Emerald Pools Trail are ideal for seeing fall colors. For the more adventurous, Angels Landing offers unparalleled views of the canyon, framed by fall foliage. The Watchman Trail is another excellent spot for catching sunset views over the valley, with the fall colors illuminated by the evening light.
