9Dresden Striezelmarkt
Another contender for the oldest Christmas market in Germany, Dresden’s Striezelmarkt traces its origins to 1434. Named after the local Christmas cake, the Striezel or Stollen, this market offers a variety of regional delights. With over 200 stalls selling everything from pottery to lacework, it’s a haven for Christmas shopping. The highlight of this market is the Stollen Festival, during which a giant version of the cake is paraded through the streets and ceremoniously sliced for visitors.
