Start by ensuring you have all the ingredients you’ll need for a smooth baking process. For the dough, you’ll require all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, sugar, salt, warm milk, eggs, egg yolks, softened butter, vanilla extract, and orange zest. The filling calls for raisins, candied orange peel, and candied lemon peel. Soaking the raisins in rum is optional but highly recommended for added depth of flavor, although warm water can also be used. Finally, prepare a panettone mold or use a deep round baking pan lined with parchment paper if you don’t have a mold.
