Yellowknife, the capital of Canada’s Northwest Territories, is often referred to as the “Northern Lights Capital of the World.” With its location directly under the Auroral Oval, Yellowknife boasts some of the clearest and most frequent Aurora sightings on the planet.

The city’s cold, dry climate results in minimal cloud cover, allowing for excellent visibility. The prime viewing season runs from mid-November to early April, when the long nights increase your chances of spotting the Aurora.
