5Step 2: Create the House Panels

Once the dough has chilled, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness. Using a template, cut out the necessary pieces for your house: two walls, two roof panels, and a front and back.

If you don’t have a pre-made template, you can easily design one using cardboard or paper. Carefully place the gingerbread pieces on the baking sheets, leaving space between them, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow the pieces to cool completely before attempting to assemble the house.
