10North Yungas Road, Bolivia

Often referred to as the “Death Road,” Bolivia’s North Yungas Road is widely considered the most dangerous road in the world. This treacherous stretch of highway winds through the Andes Mountains, connecting the Bolivian capital, La Paz, to the town of Coroico. The road is narrow, often no wider than 10 feet in some sections, with steep cliffs dropping thousands of feet into the valleys below. The combination of poor visibility, frequent landslides, and a lack of guardrails has resulted in hundreds of fatalities over the years. Despite these dangers, it attracts thrill-seeking tourists and adventurous mountain bikers eager to tackle its hair-raising curves.
