Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is a hidden gem for fall foliage enthusiasts. One of the best drives for fall colors is along M-28, which runs from Marquette to Munising along the shores of Lake Superior.

The combination of the lake’s deep blue waters and the vibrant fall foliage makes for a picture-perfect scene. Visitors can also explore the Porcupine Mountains, Tahquamenon Falls, and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for more breathtaking views. Peak foliage in the Upper Peninsula typically occurs in late September to early October.
