The drive takes travelers through some of the most beautiful, rugged landscapes in the state, with sweeping views of the forested mountains painted in shades of red, orange, and gold. Along the way, you can stop at lookouts like the Pemigewasset Overlook and the Sabbaday Falls for stunning views. The Kancamagus Highway is a favorite for leaf peepers and is best enjoyed in early to mid-October, when the colors are at their peak.
