1Strasbourg, France – The “Capital of Christmas”

Known as Christkindelsmärik, Strasbourg’s Christmas market is one of the oldest in Europe, dating back to 1570. This iconic market features over 300 stalls spread across multiple locations, with Place Kléber as its focal point, where a towering Christmas tree graces the square. The market is a feast for the senses, filled with handmade crafts, ornaments, and Alsatian treats like flammekueche (Alsatian pizza) and bredele (traditional holiday cookies). The Strasbourg Cathedral’s Gothic façade serves as a stunning backdrop to the festive lights, and there are countless concerts, shows, and workshops for visitors of all ages.
