The Golden Gate Bridge is arguably the most iconic suspension bridge in the world. Spanning the Golden Gate Strait, it connects San Francisco to Marin County. Completed in 1937, its striking orange-red color contrasts vividly against the often foggy backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.

At 2.7 kilometers (1.7 miles) long and with towers rising 227 meters (746 feet) above the water, the Golden Gate Bridge was once the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world.
