It’s a common misconception that lightning never strikes the same place twice. In reality, lightning can and does strike the same location multiple times. This is particularly true for tall structures, such as skyscrapers and radio towers, which are more likely to be hit by lightning due to their height. The Empire State Building, for example, is struck by lightning about 20 to 25 times each year. Lightning tends to favor certain spots due to their elevation and conductivity.
