The Dragon Blood Tree (Dracaena cinnabari) is native to the remote Socotra Island in Yemen and looks like something from another planet. The tree gets its name from the dark red resin it produces, which was historically referred to as “dragon’s blood.” This resin has been used for centuries in medicine, dye, and even as a varnish.
