8Corpse Flower (Amorphophallus titanum)

The Corpse Flower, also known as Titan Arum, is infamous for its foul odor that smells like rotting flesh. Native to the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia, this flower can grow up to 10 feet tall and is one of the largest flowers in the world. Despite its off-putting scent, the smell serves an important purpose: it attracts carrion beetles and flesh flies that pollinate the plant. The Corpse Flower blooms only once every several years, and when it does, it draws crowds eager to witness—and smell—this botanical oddity.
