6Mount Roraima, Venezuela

Mount Roraima, located at the triple border point of Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana, is a tabletop mountain that rises dramatically from the surrounding rainforest. The sheer cliffs and flat summit of this ancient tepui are often shrouded in clouds, giving it a mystical appearance. The unique ecosystem on the summit is home to plant and animal species found nowhere else on Earth. The towering rock formations and otherworldly landscape have inspired numerous fictional settings, including Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Lost World.”
