10Playa Zipolite, Mexico
Located on Mexico’s southern Pacific coast, Playa Zipolite is famous for its natural beauty and laid-back vibe, but it has also earned the nickname “Beach of the Dead” due to its deadly undercurrents. The beach has powerful rip currents that can easily pull swimmers out to sea, making it one of the most dangerous beaches in Mexico. Although lifeguard patrols have been increased in recent years, the waters are still hazardous, especially for inexperienced swimmers. Visitors should always heed warnings and avoid swimming in unsafe conditions.
