The Hawa Mahal, or “Palace of Winds,” in Jaipur, India, is an exquisite example of Rajput architecture. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the palace features a stunning façade with 953 small windows, or jharokhas, designed to allow royal ladies to observe street festivities without being seen.
