Bioluminescence is a phenomenon where certain organisms, such as plankton, produce light through chemical reactions. When disturbed by movement in the water, these organisms emit a glowing blue or green light, creating a surreal and magical effect. The most famous bioluminescent bays can be found in Puerto Rico, such as Mosquito Bay in Vieques and Laguna Grande in Fajardo.
