2Linderhof Palace, Bavaria

Linderhof Palace, another creation of King Ludwig II, is a small yet enchanting palace surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens. Unlike Neuschwanstein, Linderhof was completed during Ludwig’s lifetime, and its interiors are a lavish blend of rococo and baroque styles.

The palace is set in a secluded valley near the Alps, and its ornamental gardens, with fountains, sculptures, and pavilions, add to its magical atmosphere. The Venus Grotto, an artificial cave inspired by Wagner’s operas, is one of the most unique features of the estate.
