Freedom Island, part of the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area, is ironically inundated with trash.

Ocean currents deposit vast amounts of plastic waste along its shores, making it one of the most polluted beaches in Southeast Asia. The accumulation threatens both marine life and the surrounding mangrove ecosystems.

Main Issue: Oceanic plastic pollution.
